John Wright spoke about his experience working for Apple and developing the original operating system for the iPhone.
“Steve [Jobs] had just come back to Apple and [people] were skeptical it would survive.” John worked on a team that started with 10 and grew to 400 as the iPhone operating system was applied to other Apple products.
“I retired at 42 from Apple,” and now what? John and his wife and family moved back to the area, and bought the Red Rooster in Hillsboro. “People were buying and renovating old buildings and we figured why not?”
The Red Rooster now offers hotels, a restaurant, and a brewery.
John discussed R&D, finding friction points to solve, and the power (when harnessed correctly) of AI.
And now the team knows how the iPhone became a household product!
