Cheryl Mitchell visited CEO to share life lessons with our team!
Don’t hold to tightly to your limiting beliefs. “Be curious!”
Build your networks: Cheryl shared how her cousin was a drummer who learned under Craig Lindvahl, the founder of CEO, and she took a risk to call him about working for Midland. One call, “like Meg Jay’s The Defining Decade, “ with weak ties can change your life!
Lessons for this generation? Cheryl referenced an alumna who when challenged about “this generation [being soft],” pointed out, “but you [older generations] did this to us!” Cheryl encouraged the team, “push against the slow drift [toward safety and away from taking risks]!” You have to stay focused on your goals not your fears!
Lasting lessons: “Stop saying ‘I’m anxious’. Start saying, ‘I’m normal nervous.’” Going to college (or starting a side hustle), for example, isn’t a wildly anxious situation, “it’s normal to be nervous.”
What a great day of life lessons!
