Board members are active, engaged community leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to the operational oversight of our local CEO Program.
Facilitator Support
Board members provide ongoing support to the CEO Facilitator.
Event Planning
Board members plan and execute key CEO events, including investor and mentor socials, and the student trade show.
Student Recruitment & Selection
Board members organize recruitment efforts, engage with local schools, and oversee the selection of CEO students.
Mentorship Coordination
Board members recruit mentors, manage mentor-student pairings, and ensure mentor program success.
School Liaison
Board members maintain communication with school administrators to coordinate student participation and scheduling.
Investor Recruitment & Care

She has a B.S. in Business Management, A.A. in Psychology from Liberty University, and has completed Graduate School of Banking (GSB) through University of Wisconsin-Madison, Community Bankers School through Community Bankers Association of Illinois, and Sales & Marketing School through GSB. When Katie is not working or learning, she enjoys SCUBA diving and spending time with her fiance, Steph, children (including 3 CEO alumni), and 4 pets. Katie is passionate about supporting the development of future business leaders through the CEO program.

Angela Verticchio
PartnerTreasurerAngela Verticchio grew up in Gillette, Wyoming, and Mudgee, Australia, before moving to Carlinville, Illinois, during high school. She earned her Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Angela began her career at Ernst & Young (EY), where she spent eight years in the firm’s St. Louis and Denver offices, specializing in audit services to Fortune 500 companies within the energy sector. After returning to Carlinville to raise her family, she joined Fleming, Tawfall & Company, a local accounting firm focused on audit and tax services. When the Carlinville office later spun off to form Carlinville CPA Group, Angela soon became a Partner and continues to play a key role in the firm's leadership and growth. Outside of work, Angela and her husband stay busy with their two children, Jace and Arlee, along with their dog and turtle.

He attended Colorado State University then attended and obtained his BS in Air Commerce and Flight Technology from Florida Institute of Technology (now Florida Tech). He worked as a Union Ironworker (Local 46), then designed, developed, sold and managed industrial construction projects in southern Illinois, St. Louis and St. Charles County, Mo. He helped develop 4 industrial parks in those areas. He now sells industrial real estate in southern Illinois representing the Barber Murphy Group and is involved in sales and marketing for DRAXXON, an international manufacturer of mobile and portable command centers focused around the UAV industry. Scott first saw the wonder of the CEO program demonstrated at an economic development Christmas program in Montgomery County Illinois in 2014. The students in the program of that year presented and impressed. Scott became of member of the Macoupin County CEO Board soon thereafter. Scott won the lottery when he somehow talked Jane into marrying him in 1998. Jane came with the double bonus of Dinah Jane (San Antonio) and Luke (Austin).

Director of Student ServicesBoard Member Committees: School CoordinatorEllen Etter grew up on a small family farm in rural Carlinville, Illinois. She attended Illinois State University and double-majored in Agricultural Education and Agribusiness. Ellen is currently the Director of Student Services at Northwestern Junior Senior High School in Palmyra, Illinois. Prior to her role at Northwestern, she was an Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA Advisor at North Mac High School and Carlinville Middle School. Ellen and her husband, Zach, have two boys, Raymond and Warren. Ellen became a supporter of the Macoupin County CEO program after seeing her students thrive and excel in the program. Ellen joined the Macoupin County CEO Board during the Summer of 2025.
