Day 3: First Business Visit!
The team visited the Snack Shack with owner, Caysea Gray. Caysea explained her previous 9-5 job and how it afforded her a learning ground from which she was able to launch her own business. “I was ready to be my own boss.”
Here’s what the team had to say:
Sydney: I love Snack Shack! As soon as we walked in the cute decor and fun energy lifted my mood, I think the aesthetics of the business are very important to create a good environment that people will want to come back too.
Brylee: I enjoyed visiting the Snack Shack because it was a fun and welcoming small business with a friendly atmosphere. I liked learning about how the business operates and seeing the hard work that goes into running a small business.
Ella: Good staff, makes a big difference!
Riley: Lots of testing can make a perfect product!!
Claire: The pricing and costs were interesting to me.
Josie: good product is important!
Carter: push marketing is important for more customers.
Sofia: Running a small business involves more work behind the scenes than customers usually see.
Wrigley: “wag the dog” (push marketing) is a great way to inspire customers
Jillian: It’s important that you start putting your name out there early
Melanie: take the gamble to start your own business (it’s worth it!)
Lillian: It takes a big heart to run a small business. The snack shack makes me wish I lived closer to Gillespie 
Elizabeth: Having good product is important so people want to come back, and having good help makes things run a lot smoother!
Cade: Snack Shack is the perfect example of someone who had a dream, chased it, and is making it happen. Loved getting to see all the behind the scenes of this AMAZING shop!
Xavier: Didn’t even know that the Snack Shack even existed until today, would go back!
Kaylee: Having a really good staff is the best thing to have
