Joe Butler with RP Lumber gave CEO a tour of the Carlinville store. Joe explained how Bob Plumber opened his first store 47 years ago in Staunton, geared toward contractors which includes running trucks to work sites, invoicing, and bulk orders. The team drilled down on revenue streams, understanding suppliers, and external systems that led to discussing how hurricanes and interest rates increase or challenge sales.

Joe also grabbed a flier with a picture of coiled wire on it, “this is our Costco rotisserie chicken. This is what gets people in the door,” explaining that no matter what channels and products you offer, some are always going to be your bread and butter.
