Trista Woods is the VP for Macoupin County for Warren Boynton Bank. Trista invited the CEO team to visit Warren Boynton’s branch in Palmyra where she discussed small town banking with friendly service.
Trista also explained her entry level start to VP and how small town banks and businesses are often about who you know and the character you share when interacting with others. “If you’re harsh with people, word gets around [a small town]. You won’t, say, get hired. But if you are kind, have good credit, are reliable, and good with numbers…you’re a great fit [for banking]” Hank asked about hiring someone with no credit. “No credit is better than bad credit. And then it’s just a matter of how you interact and treat others.”
Trista highlighted a winning example as “Aaron Williams (CEO alumnus, 2019) is now one of our loan officers.” Aaron also serves on the CEO board…full circle success!
Trista also shared about the power of one’s image when using social media. “You may not think it matters but what you say [to the world o line] is also a reflection to future employers.”
